Yesterday was the day that Lady GaGa made it. Miss G's video for Bad Romance premiered on the internet and has been picking up millions of views ever since. Now I have had a love hate relationship with Gaga since this time last year when i first heard of her. It stems from the fact that although the girl can write a good pop song and has a great sense of shock fashion about her she takes herself way to seriously and isnt as much of a true original like she keeps harping on about, most famously she has been comepared to a knock american version of the incredible Roisin Murphy which i think is pretty true. Even though i find her a bit too big for her boots i still reluctantly got myself tickets to see her live next year. Having seen the Bad Romance video about 70 times i have to say it is the best video of the year, directed and shot beutifully its made a mediocre pop something you want to hear again and again. The use of Alexander Mcqueens S/S 2010 collection adds such a dark element to the video that you really begin to hear the undustrial metal sounds Gaga said she was inspired by when writing the song. All in all I'm now mentally excited about seeing her live and think she is kinda of her way to becoming a pop icon, she is no madge and mj but she is a worthy modern substitute.
