Whether you call them creepers or wedges platform shoes are back with a bang and we have more variety now then ever. If your my age (20) or older you can probably harp back to the late nineties when you mum/aunties/sisters/cousins/friends would head out with you in a pair of stacked up bulky POD shoes or Spice Girls platforms and you'd think to yourself how do they walk in them? Being a guy on the shorter side I have to admit I've wanted a pair of creepers for a while now, not just to fulfil my dream of becoming Lydia Deetz but also to add a couple of inches to my diminutive stature so when I first saw the Prada platform Oxford brogues last summer my eyes lit up. I wont try and use some ridiculous metaphor to try and describe because I know most people would find them hideous so I'll just state what I think: there the most perfect thing's in the world. In a way the shoes link a gap between the OTT of the 90's club kid platform and a nice sensible brogue a style of shoe Prada seem's to always be reinventing. They never put a foot wrong when it comes to footwear and with each collection released I run out and try and find the closest knock off version I can. I obviously will not be able to own a pair any time soon and the d.i.y ebay version that have cropped up recently don't seem to have my size so I guess I'll have to settle with creepers or if Topman/ASOS bring out there own rip off version.
