People who know me well normally tend to realise after a while that I LOVE MADONNA, I kinda think of her as the archetypal artist along with David Bowie and Michael Jackson. I feel she always release's brilliant material with each album and has written some of the most memorable pop songs in history. Madonna is also genre defying From R'n'B to electronica to blues to latin to hip hop to protest pop she has done it all and with every album has a new image to keep her fresh in the minds of everyone, I mean can you think of any other female artists that have as much iconic imagery as her? My favourite madonna albums if I really had to pick them have to probably be Like a Prayer and Ray of Light, I find both albums beautiful, touching and show off Madonnas skills as a song writer. Her last studio album Hard Candy 2008 was her foray into Hip Hop and she collaborated with some of the most talented producers and writers of today including Timbaland and Pharrel Williams. I have to be truthfull that although I loved that album (standout tracks Heartbeat and Incredible) I felt that by Madonna standards it wasnt her best. If the exact same album was by Britney, Christina, Nelly Furtado or Beyonce it would be the best album or there career but I expected more from Madonna as through the 00's she released brilliant album after brilliant album. Now news is coming in after finally completing her record breaking world tour that lasted most of the past two years, she will start work on her new album. With the likes of people like Lady GaGa around at the moment I feel like madonna really needs to try something out of the box to show people why with out her there would be no GaGa or Beyonce. I feel like Madonna needs to head to europe to make her next album. I want a dance album but with substance like the classic Confessions on a Dancefloor. I personally feel Madonna should work with Justice, Simian Mobile Disco, Metronomy, MSTRKRFT and Daft Punk to create something that will blow everyones mind. Working with those kinds of artists will bring her relevance back to the mainstream and also show her off to a new audience that wouldnt normally notice. Madonna has survived without a hitch for 25 years she needs to produce new material and will show all those haters why she is the QUEEN OF POP!
