When I first heard Brittany Murphy had died I like most other people my age was devestated, you see she was a massive part of my childhood and what I see as the making of me (see clueless) . I also felt that she was a very underestimated actress and was never really given a opportunity to shine as bright as she really could. I found her to be this beautiful amazing free spirit who was like no one else in Hollywood . Now in the wake of her death I went through her movie collection to relive some goodtimes but what really suprised me was a little british film she made in 2006 called Love and Other Disasters. The film was totally off my radar and I never had heard of it before (I wasnt paying much attention to anything really in 2006). In the film Murphy play's a young London city livng girl who works at vogue, has a fab aparment who she shares with her best mate and a chic to the max wardrobe (everything I'd like my life to be). The film revolves around her and her friends love lifes and how idealistic and confusing there takes on love are. I could really relate to the film as me and my friends kinda think and feel the way the characters do. Its safe to say I loved the film, yea it pretty much a chick flick but I kinda loved the message it put across and I found myself really learning a lesson watching it. It was a charming and funny film and a lot better than some of the other rom com's floating around. Furthermore the film has a pretty steller cast too with the likes of Matthew Rhys (the gay bother from brothers and sisters), Cathrine Tate, Stephanie Beecham and Santiago Cabrera. The film also has cameos from Dawn French, Orlando Bloom and Gweneth Paltrow. Love and Other Disasters kind leaves you feeling sad knowing that someone so talented and beautiful wont be gracing our cinema screens anymore. Below are links to watch it online and a few screen caps. Love and Other Disasters - 2006
