Four months ago after the passing of Alexander Mcqueen the future of the fashion label was unknown however since his tragic death Mcqueen's second in command Sarah Burton has taken over the brand and has gone on to create a collection for spring 2011 which stays true to the aesthetic Alexander was known for but also shows how the label could grow even after the loss of its creator. The collection showcased a wide range of different trousers for the 2011 season from wide leg slacked pants to very tight fitting cropped trousers that had a almost loose leggings look to them and were seen in two distintive styles, a combat with large pocket and a tweed/pinstripe. A personal highlight was the full length maroon velvet coat and wide leg pants with the now iconic Mcqueen print in auburn, gold and cherry colours. There was a feeling of a young men raiding a old public school boy's closet and then running to second hand store or bespoke suit outlet store and putting together whatever they could find. The outcome being a jumble of different silhouettes, very loose fitting pieces that could almost fit five models within them that juxtaposed with very constricted almost skintight items.
